This is a beautifully illustrated book of stories and poems for children, published in 1889 by McLoughlin Brothers of New York. There is a pencil inscription of the original owner and dated 1889. The pages are not numbered, but I estimate it at well over 100 pages long. The book is in rather delicate condition as shown in the photo of the spine, and not all pages are securely attached. Still, the illustrations are gorgeous and the stories take us back to an earlier time.
