Hand Forged Deadbolt Latch
Hand Forged Deadbolt Latch
This latch is sturdy enough for large or heavy doors, but interesting enough to use anywhere. This two piece latch features a sliding deadbolt that fits into a hand forged plate. The sliding bolt is about 12" overall and made of 1/2" thick square stock steel. The bar it slides through is 8 3/4" long, 1 1/2" wide and comes away from the door 2 1/4". The mounting holes are approximately 6" apart. You'll need about 4" past those mounting holes to slide the latch to open. The plate measures 4" high x 1.5" wide. It can be mounted facing right or left. Please note that the listing is for the hand forged deadbolt and plate only, you will need to provide your own mounting hardware. The holes will fit any standard-sized screw or nail. Small through bolts can be used as well. Drywall screws are pictured, but you may want to consider using structural or deck screws for additional security. Although each gate latch is made to look like the one pictured, slight differences do occur since each is individually hand made using fire, anvil, and hammers in our blacksmith shop here on our Pennsylvania farm. We make these up as they are ordered, so we currently have a 2-week shipping estimate on all hand forged orders. We're also happy to do custom work upon request. All our hand-forged metal work is made with a coal fire, anvil, hammers & other hand tools, just as a blacksmith would have used years ago. American-made quality designed to last a lifetime and beyond! We have more hand forged metal work, including other latch styles as well as handles and other hardware for sale here as well.
PLEASE NOTE: All hand forged items are made to order and will take approximately 2 weeks to create and ship.
