These were created at the request of the International Salt Company and are vibrant portraits of the modern industry at work in the mine, located in Restof in western New York State. It seems this was put together in the 1979's, when the mine was fully operational. It was the largest salt mine in North America and the second largest in the world. Unfortunately, an earthquake in 1994 triggered a catastrophic collapse of the mine, ending operations and triggering environmental problems as it flooded with ground water which turned to brine. The art prints are a set of 8, illustrating activities like drilling explosive holes and shuttling salt to the mine railroad in vibrant colors. Each is unmarred and measures 8\" x 10\".\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVintage find, please see photos. Seems to be a complete set and was found at a sale not terribly far from the former mine location, this may have been given to employees. The booklet has a bit of foxing and there is yellowing (sun damage) to the folder as shown.
