Vintage Household Searchlight Recipe Book, revised and illustrated 1949 edition. Edited by Ida Migliario, Zorada Titus, Harriet Allard and Irene Nunemaker and originally published in 1931. It was created from recipes submitted by readers of Household magazine and tested by The Household Searchlight until it was closed in 1942 due to World War II. A neat vintage cookbook, it has tabs on the right hand page to make it easy to find recipes by category.  Categories include appetizers, beverages, canning, fruits, vegetables, desserts, meat, poultry, gelatin, salads, sandwiches, eggs, cheese, and more. 22nd edition, 320 pages including index.

I love old cookbooks, and they were one of my first vintage collections. I especially love cookbooks written before WW II as they tend to have recipes for whole ingredients instead of processed items.  If I didn't already have a copy of this cookbook, I would have been tempted to keep it for my own collection!

Vintage find, so please review all photos.  Cover is solid but does have some wear, especially at corners.  The tabs are a bit curled. In great condition otherwise, binding is in great shape and page are intact and not brittle or yellow.  You will find some stains and splatters on some of the pages, but I always love seeing that a cookbook was used and enjoyed.  The dirtiest pages often have the tastiest or most beloved recipes!
