Welcome to The Forge at Pleasant Valley!

Welcome to The Forge at Pleasant Valley!

Hello and welcome. I'm so glad you found our little corner of the internet!  Here in our shop, we offer a variety of handmade goods produced right here on  our historic family farm. We also offer a curated collection of vintage finds we come across at local auctions.

We are a real working family farm in rural Forest County, Pennsylvania, about two hours north of Pittsburgh or an hour south of Lake Erie.  We are minutes away from the Allegheny National Forest. Our farm is part of the local community, offering organically grown produce and beef, pork, chicken, lamb and homemade sausage from animals raised here.  I process excess produce into jams, salsa, pickles and more.  We have a roadside farm stand open from Memorial Day weekend through the end of November each year where folks can pick up fresh local food as well as the items we offer here online.  We want people to truly connect to where their food is grown.  You can see our garden and pastures beyond the farm stand when you visit.  We also let visitors get up close to our heritage breed poultry and even feed the chickens, ducks, turkeys and even peacocks that call Pleasant Valley home.

We hope to give some of that same connection when you shop with us online.  With the exception of our vintage offerings, everything you see here is lovingly crated by hand by either my husband Dan or I.

We have no employees other than the team of Belgian draft horses that help us in the fields. Our farm was known for having a respected blacksmith over 100 years ago, and we are proud to carry on that tradition.  The old forge is the oldest building on the farm, dating from the 1870's or so, and our current forge uses some of the same equipment that has been here all these years.  Herbal salves like comfrey, jewelweed and calendula are created with herbs grown organically in our fields, and feather jewelry is made with feathers from the birds that live here, including our peacocks.

Items are packed with care by us for shipping and you will always talk to me if you have questions about our items or our process. When you deal with Pleasant Valley Farm, you deal with real people.

We also pride ourselves on custom items to give you exactly what you want, whether it is a custom size of one of our pot rack designs, a custom blend of essential oils in a hand cream or lip balm, or you have a design for a custom item for the forge.  We are happy to work with you to create your vision. When you shop with us, you support a real farm and a real family.
