Antique copy of the 1901 Yearbook of the United States Department of Agriculture, published in Washington DC at the Government Printing Office in 1902. 846 pages including indexes. Tables and black and white photos are found throughout. Also includes a few color plates. Some plates fold out for larger illustrations and charts. Besides being an official government publication and report, it also includes articles on entomology, new fruits, mohair, cotton seed, Rocky Mountain reservoirs, prairie dogs, woodcocks and wood ducks, hemp, timber and more. Front cover is embossed with the seal of the USDA.
Antique estate find, please see photos. In fair to good condition for age. Some wear to cover corners and edges, some staining to spine and front cover as shown. Binding in fair condition as pages are secured but binding strings are visible. Pages are a bit yellow but not brittle and occasional smudges or spots may be present. A unique vintage find providing a window into US agriculture from 120+ years ago!
