Antique 1880 copy of Agriculture of Pennsylvania, containing reports of the State Board of Agriculture, the State Agricultural Society, the State Dairymen's Association, the State Horticultural Association, and the State College for 1879. Published in Harrisburg, PA by Lane Hart, State Printer, 1880. It is considered an official state document and it is the third annual report produced. The various reports contain membership lists, meeting minutes, Association bylaws, official awards, and other procedural information. Articles cover things like livestock disease, farm equipment, crops and their effects on soil, and more. There are a number of plate illustrations, many of exceptional livestock of the day. Many charts, diagrams, illustrations and tables can be found throughout as well.
In good condition for age but please review photos as this is a 145 year old book. Some damage/wear as shown to spine, edges and corners of cover. Cover has some discoloration. Binding is in excellent condition. Pages have minimal yellowing, occasional stains may be present. Extremely readable condition and a fascinating look back at agriculture in Pennsylvania from the late 19th century!
