Set of 3 science textbooks from the early 1900s. Books include Applied Physiology, The Body at Work and A Civic Biology. These were schoolbooks published between 1909-1914. An interesting look back at American science education, or a great trio of books in complimentary colors and subjects for display.
-Applied Physiology, Including the Effects of Alcohol and Narcotics, Advanced Grade, by Frank Overton, A.M., M.D. Published by the American Book Company in 1910, it appears to be a 3rd edition. 464 pages including index. Illustrated.
-The Body at Work, Gulick Hygiene Series Book Four, by Frances Gulick Jewett. Published by Ginn and Company in 1909, appears to be a first edition. 257 pages including index. Illustrated.
-A Civic Biology, Presented in Problems by George William Hunter, PhD. Published by the American Book Company in 1914, appears to be a first edition.432 pages including index. Illustrated.
All were used by schoolchildren and have notes, names and drawings in pencil all over the inside cover pages and occasionally throughout. A Civic Biology has a bit of a crack in the binding at the title page but pages are secure. All are in readable condition.
