Birmingham Stove and Range Century Series#10 cast iron skillet with matching lid, made in the 1950's-1960's. Skillet is marked Made in USA, No. 10, 12 7/16 IN, 5H-1, and lid is marked NO. 10, 125/8 IN. Skillet measures 12 7/16" across, 17 1/4" long including handle and is 2 1/4" deep. It has small pour spouts and an inset heat ring. The cover is a true skillet lid, with ears to cover the pour spouts. The dimples on the underside were typical of BSR's self-basting lids. The skillet weighs 7 lbs, and about 13 lb 6 oz with lid.
Vintage find, please review all photos. Noticable pitting around the edge of the cooking surface, otherwise it has beautiful original swirl marks. These pits are a medium depth and will affect cooking some foods. Small imperfection in skillet rim.as shown, this looks like a casting flaw rather than a chip. Sits nearly flat on granite with just a slight tick at room temperature. The lid is in good condition with no issues and lid sits flat on skillet. Restored via electrolysis and given multiple coats of seasoning with grapeseed oil.
