Vintage deep skillet/chicken fryer made by Birmingham Stove and Range of Birmingham, Alabama sometime in the 1940's. This is a late Red Mountain series marked 8G2. It has the smaller pour spouts, smooth bottom, and has the distinctive BSR handle. Measures 10.75" across, 15.5" with handle and is 3" deep. Weighs 5 lb 12 oz.
Vintage find, please see photos. No cracks or chips. Some unevenness in color which will season in with use. Has a significant wobble/spin, not recommended for glass top stoves but will work beautifully on gas stoves, in the oven, on the grill or over a campfire. Professionally restored via electrolysis and given multiple coats of grapeseed oil seasoning. It arrives ready for use or display.
