1920 edition of Daly's Billiard Book by Maurice Daly, Billiard World Champion, and published by A.C. McClurg & Co. of Chicago. This is the 5th edition. It is illustrated with more than 400 diagrams, 30 technical photographs and 3 strategy maps. Hardcover, 276 pages. While I initially thought this was strategy for playing pool, it is actually a book on carom billiards, which is played on a table without pockets and with only 3 balls. This game, played with a cue stick, originated in France in the 18th century. In the United States, the game was most popular in the later half of the 1800s, and is considered obscure here although it is still popular in other parts of the world.
