Antique 1890 first edition copy of An Easy Method for Beginners in Latin by Albert Harkness, PHD, LL. D., professor at Brown University. Published by the American Book Company, 348 pages. Contains black and white illustrations as well as a few color plates. Contains expected lessons for learning Latin like alphabet, vocabulary, declension, conjugating verbs, etc, plus some passages in Latin at the end of the book.
In good condition for age but please review photos as this book is over 130 years old. Some damage/wear as shown to edges and corners of cover. Cover has some discoloration. Spine is real leather and has been treated with a professional leather dressing to keep it in good condition. Binding is cracked at the inside front cover but all pages are intact and secure. Pages have minimal yellowing, occasional stains may be present. Extremely readable condition and a fascinating look back at learning Latin in the late 19th century!
