Listing is for a set of Griswold shallow patty or timbale molds. Set includes the two shallow molds (round and fluted), the handles, the original box, and the original insert with the recipe. The handles unscrew from the molds for easier storage.
Patty molds are dipped in a thin batter and then placed into hot oil. The result is somewhat like a funnel cake, but retains the shape of the mold. Patties can be enjoyed warm, or made ahead of time and can be either reheated or served cold.
This set was not made in Erie, it was produced after the Griswold foundry closed in 1958, this set likely dates to the 1960s. The recipe card is marked Sidney, Ohio rather than Erie PA.
Vintage estate find, please see photos. The box lid is partially missing the edge along the fold line as shown and original price was written on the box exterior. Inside bottom of the box is stained. Molds are in good condition for use or display and both handles are included.
