Covers home and country, children and the elderly, relationships and marriage, temperance, church and salvation, teachers and college, government, and much more. This would have been an inspirational book to read throughout the year, and all passages are short enough to be read quickly. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos and drawings. This would surely have been a lovely gift for a new couple starting a life together, or as a Christmas gift like the inscription in front notes on this copy.
Antique estate find, please see photos. Overall in very good condition. Pages are intact and binding is in good condition.Minor damage on inside cover as shown, otherwise in excellent condition inside. You may find some smudges from being read, but pages are not yellow or brittle and the gilding on the edges still shines beautifully. Minor wear to cover, especially to corners and spine, but the gulding is bright and is in great condition to read. A neat look back at society that is nearly 120 years old!
