Iron Mountain #8 skillet with matching lid, made by Griswold in Erie, PA around 1940. These are not marked Griswold and were sold at lower price points in places like hardware and department stores. They are still high quality vintage cast iron and a joy to cook with! It is marked only 8, 1033, on the underside. Lid is marked with a raised 8 on the top and 1035 B on the underside in the distinctive Iron Mountain font and broken ring self basting drippers. The distinctive handle shape of the skillet is also a hallmark of Iron Mountain pans. Skillet measures 10.75" across, 15.5" long including handle and is 2" deep.
Professionally restored via electrolysis and given multiple coats of grapeseed oil seasoning. No chips or cracks. Sits flat. Some light flea bites rust pitting and utensil marks on cooking surface, please see photos. Lid has areas of discoloration as shown. Great for use or display!
