This is a collection of documents from the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen, dating from the 1950's. There are 4 Directories, dating from December 1953, September 1954, March 1955, & September 1959. These list addresses and officers for lodges across the country. There is one Official Circular of the Grand Lodge, reporting on a meeting of the General Policy Committee in December 1953. There are a number of monthly bulletins, including August, September and October of 1953, January of 1954, and January, February and September of 1955 along with a few original original union envelopes. There is a third envelope which is still sealed. There is also a Quarterly Pass with a coded word to be used for the first quarter of 1954, which was fascinating to find!
Estate find, please see photos for more information on condition. Paperis in remarkably good condition for being around 70 years old! Creases and folds as shown. The February 1955 bulletin has the mailing envelope stuck to it but is still readable. All pages can be easily handled as they are not yellow or brittle. An interesting window into union practices of the past.
