Vintage #8 cast iron skillet with heat ring made by Martin Stove & Range of Florence, Alabama. This style was made from the 1920s through 1950. The company began as the King Stove and Range Company but few records exist of its early days. The Martin brothers convinced the company to buy a small foundry in 1905, and took over the company in 1917, renaming it Martin Stove & Range. They produced a wide variety of hollowware including skillets, griddles and even gem pans, along with stoves and even a few toys. They discontinued making skillets and other hollow ware in 1953, but the company now known as Martin Industries continues to make wood, coal and electric heaters.

This pan is in great shape overall, but please review all photos. This style logo is known as the standard or hamburger logo because of its shape. There is a small casting flaw on the inside rim as shown in the photos, it will not affect cooking performance. There are utensil marks inside consistent with wear for its age. No cracks, sits flat, no pitting.

It has been professionally restored via electrolysis and given multiple coats of grapeseed oil seasoning. Ready for use or display.
