11 issues of Mechanix Illustrated magazine from the year 1956 (missing the November issue).This magazine was a competitor of Popular Mechanics and Popular Science, and covers many of the same general subjects. Black and white illustrations found throughout. Articles cover things like cars, diy projects, home improvement tips and projects, space, hunting, boating, the outdoors and more. The full color covers are a great representation of mid century automotive and technology. Has features on vintage cars like the Studebaker Golden Hawk, Chevy Corvette and more. Lots of DIY projects from a bookshelf to a miniature darkroom to a camper trailer and much more.
Vintage estate find, please see photos. Magazines may have dog ears or peeling cover spines but are very readable if handled with care. Pages have some yellowing, pages may be slightly brittle but can be ready if handled with care. The back cover of the February issue has come loose but is included. A neat look back at 1956 with lots of fascinating vintage articles and advertisements. Fun to read or display in the man cave or garage!
