National #9 cast iron skillet, made by Wagner Ware in Sidney Ohio, sometime between 1895-1914. The National line had only 3 sizes-7, 8,& 9 with this being the largest. It measures 11" across, 16" with handle, and is 2" deep. A beautiful antique pan that is as well cast as a Griswold, it it lightweight for its size at 4 lb 5 oz. Marked National 9B.
Vintage find, please see photos. No cracks or chips, sits dead flat on granite. No pitting. Minor utensil marks on cooking surface. A couple small casting flaws as shown -a small divot on the top of the handle, and the inside of the handle loop has a bit of extra material. These will not affect performance. Skillet also has areas with a bit more metallic shine- see handle close up for example. Also occurs on the outer area of the underside of the skillet. I would expect color to even put with use.
Professionally restored via electrolysis and given multiple coats of grapeseed oil seasoning. Ready for use or display.
