Here is a nice vintage Wagner Ware cast iron skillet, size #8, with a self basing skillet cover. Both were made in Sidney Ohio sometime in the 1930's-1950's. The skillet is marked with an 8 on the handle and the stylized Wagner Ware logo and 1058 E on the bottom. It measures 10.5" across, 15.5" in overall length including handle, and is 2" deep. The lid is marked self basing skillet cover in raised letters on top. The underside has concentric rings of little drippers for basting your food.
Wagner Wares of this era are equal in quality to Griswolds of the time. This was an estate sale find but has been professionally restored. Please see photos.
No cracks or chips on either piece. Cooking surface of the skillet has a few minor marks from rust, please see photos. Sits flat at room temperature. This is a nice pan and sure to be a favorite to cook in! The lid is in excellent condition with no rust pitting. It has a very slight wobble on granite but fits the skillet well. Both pieces are rust free, professionally restored via electrolysis. Both pieces have been seasoned with multiple coats of grapeseed oil.
