Vintage Wagner Ware deep skillet/chicken fryer, size 8. Marked with an 8 on the upper handle and the Wagner Ware Sidney O logo on bottom. Also includes the catalog number 1088 E on underside which is difficult to read. Has a helper handle tab and is marked 8 on the top side of the handle. Made in the Sidney, Ohio foundry between the 1930's and 1950's. Measures 10.25" across, 15.5" in length including handle and tab, and is 3" deep.
Wagner Wares of this era are equal in quality to Griswolds of the time. This was an estate sale find but has been professionally restored. It is a real piece of vintage Americana from about 80 years ago!
No cracks or chips. It does wobble, some spin, does not sit completely flat. Not suitable for glass top stoves but will work well on a gas stove, in the oven, on the grill, or over a campfire. Minor utensil wear to cooking surface but overall in great shape. It is rust free, professionally restored via electrolysis. It has been seasoned with multiple coats of grape seed oil.
