Official document of the 76th Congress 3d Session, House Document No. 695. 1215 pages including indexes. Tables and black and white illustrations are found throughout. Stamped "Compliments of James E. Van Zandt, Member of Congress, 23rd Dist. Penn." Cover features a photo of two farmers looking at a map while standing on the farm. A distinct change from the drab covers of earlier Yearbooks of Agriculture.
This Yearbook contains articles which focus on economic and social conditions of agriculture. They are divided into the following sections: The Farmer's Changing World, Agriculture and National Welfare, The Farmer's Problems Today and the Efforts to Solve Them, Farm Organizations, What Some Social Scientists Have to Say, Democracy and Agricultural Policy, and Essentials of Agricultural Policy.
In good condition for age but please review photos as this is a vintage book from the 1940's. Cover shows minimal wear but does have a few small stains and minor wear to corners. Binding is intact. Pages are in good condition and not yellow or brittle. Easily readable and a unique look into agriculture in the time immediately preceding World War II.
